About

Franco’s Ristorante Pizzeria was opened in November 1984 by Franco and Kim Sanna. Franco, from the Italian island of Sardinia had worked in restaurants and hotels both in Italy and England.

Our recipes have been used in Franco’s family for generations and are still the same as they were when we opened

A fact gratefully received by customers who emigrated to Australia, New Zealand, Europe and America years ago who call in to see us when home visiting family. We’ve been a part of so many family celebrations and now have long standing customers bringing their grandchildren in!

And that’s what we’re about – a friendly, family-run establishment that has grown along with the community. We love kids, especially those whose parents keep them occupied at their tables(!)

We don’t claim to be anything we’re not. We know all the ingredients that go into our cooking and make our own dough for the pizzas and bread and our own sauces for the pasta, meat and fish dishes.

We have a good value house wine (litre bottle) and a wine list to suit all tastes and pockets. There is also a good selection of soft drinks, bottled beers, spirits and liquers.

“An Italian restaurant in Ossy? It won’t last five minutes,” a quote in 1984 from an upstanding member of our community, who, over 30 years later, is still eating his words!
